I had been looking for the LCP for a pocket CCW gun. I already have the LC9 but it is too bulky when I am wearing lighter clothing. Knowing that the LCP was not on the roster, I decided to look around for a PPT purchase. After looking for weeks, I was unable to find one at a decent price. The once that were lower priced sold within minutes of posting.
At this point, I decided to go the SSE route. I called several gun stores and found out the various SSE priced handguns. The best price I found was $393 out the door at Elite Arms & Supply in Manteca, CA (Near Bass Pro Shop).
I purchased this gun from them. Went to pick it up after my 10 day wait. Went inside, they made me sign my paperwork, I completed the paperwork and walked out of the store with my awesome single shot 8.5" barrel LCP.
[As I walked to my car I decided I didn't like the 8.5" barrel and single shot option, so I walked right back into the store and decided to get the gunsmith to change it to the original configuration.]
For $393 I had my LCP. Bought a Desantis Nemesis holster $15, extra 6 round original ruger mag $20 from Midway and some 380 rounds from Bass Pro.
If you guys have not done the SSE process, or are nervous for some odd reason, there is no need for it. It is a valid purchased under the laws. Now this may change in the coming years, but for now if you have not done so I recommend that you take advantage of SSE while you can. PM me if you have questions.
