Sig sauer p232 caliber

I have a p232 that is supposed to be a .380 but the slide is stamped in 9mm which one is it? So lost I thought they only came in .380 so why would it be stamped in 9mm

.380 is AKA 9mm Kurz (or 9mm Short) in Germany. Maybe that's it?

.380 is a 9mm. A 9mm short, or Kurtz in Germany. Nice pistol, enjoy it.

As noted above, it's a .380, which is also called other things, such as "9mm Kurtz" or "9mm Short." Do not shoot regular 9mm (also known as 9mm Parabellum or 9mm Luger) in it. They sound and look similar, but are different.

Put 9mm para in the chamber and pull the trigger..If Bad things happen..then it really Was a .380

If you can fit a 9mm parabellum in the chamber of a .380 you already have some serious problems.

the slide on my w german P230SL reads "9mm kurz" as does the slide on your P232.

The explanations above are accurate. SIG has never made a 9MM P232. You have a .380ACP.

Oh my god what made those gouges on that slide?

380ACP = 9mm Kurz = 9x17mm

9mm Lugar = 9mm Parabellum = 9x19mm

Their bullet diameter is actually slightly different.
