Berretta 84F cheatah

Just traded for a 84F IN 380. was told it had issues cycling and would stove pipe a live round instead of feeding into the chamber. he was using Tula and had 5 mags all of which would do it.

I was wondering if anyone had one and if they had experienced this issue. Got a great deal on it so I am willing to put some money in it to make it right. I don't know if it was just the ammo or what. My first thought is mag issue but with 5 factory mags? Thanks for the info.

I've owned several 380s including a Walther PPK, Sig 230, Kahr, Ruger LCP, and a Beretta 84. The Beretta was my most reliable 380. Clean it and buy some good quality ammo before changing anything.

Run 50 FMJ's through it. Brass ones: Tula BrassMaxx, Winchester White Box, Speer Lawman. Before you try to fix something that hasn't happened to you.

Thanks guys I have had good results with many other berretta firearms and will put some lead down range before any doctoring. I just wasn't sure if it was common or not. I have not experienced this issue and will need to see it for myself before I try to fix it. I hope it was just poor ammo and in that case I just stole this pistol. I have no round count but from the looks of it couldn't be much. may not even be broken in yet. will let you know what happens after I get it home and to the range.

My bda 380 browning (beretta 84 ) likes rem, win. Pmc, federal fmj ammo... quality hp ammo that ive tried too ....Runs perfect.... Scrap that cheap steel ammo junk..... Mine even runs miwall reloads... Great guns deserve great ammo---- but can get by on standard ammo... Cheers...

I really enjoy shooting these bda/beretta's 84's. Such elegant pistols and the weight makes it feel
just right in my hand, makes the 2nd tap harmonious. Just needs a good cleaning & lube.

The Beretta 84 is very nice. And unlike the BDA, the Beretta has the decocker mounted on the frame. It doesnt bother the hand when you rack the slide.
It's a great gun.

Any issues I've seen on them were mag related (usually aftermarket)

I still have a 20 rounder somewhere for one that needs the feed lips tweaked to run right....

Pretty good gun all around (unless I'm confusing 84 variants?)

mine shoots everything I feed it. no problems with tula either.

yes,the Beretta has the decocker mounted on the frame. It doesnt bother the hand when you rack the slide.thanks
