i like the wilson mags, i usually just order from them direct. If the order is over $50 shipping is free. http://wilsoncombat.com/ -
The problem with the question in the title is that not all magazines are equal. Some won't feed properly, some don't disassemble easily, etc...
I like the Wilson Combat 47D mags and the Chip McCormick magazines. They've served me well.
P.S. Any qualifiers for what you are searching for? 7 Round? 8 round? 10 round? Drop pad? No drop pad?Comment

I'd get the Chip Mccormick power mags. Right now they're on sale at midway
They have probably the strongest mag tube and feedlip out there. Stock they have a metal follower which can gouge an alloy frame but is fine in a steel frame.Comment

I've ordered Wilson 47D's from Shooters Plus for my aluminum-framed Kimber. "Shooters Plus" (Zack) is a vendor and sometimes posts on the Commercial Marketplace forum. Flat-rate shipping and good service.Comment

I've got a few of the 8-rd stainless chip mccormick shooting stars, and a few clones of the shooting stars.
From a reliability standpoint, I can't tell them apart. They are much beefier than the factory mags and feed flawlessly. Please read the Calguns Wiki
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

As usual you get what you pay for. Cheap mags are exactly that, and most 1911 mags that come with factory guns need to be thrown out or used only as charging mags for IDPA. I have been using CMC Powermags and they work perfectly. It is better to have 3 mags that work 100% than 10 that don't work at all.Comment

I use nothing but Wilson....
Last time I ordered some, Cheaperthandirt had the best price... But prices vary... http://www.cheaperthandirt.comsigpicComment

I agree with this assessment. I have some Tripp Cobra mags and they work great. cheap mags will cause jams.As usual you get what you pay for. I bought my Wilson Combat 7-rounders for my dad's Kimber from MidwayUSA for a reasonable price. Too bad I don't have C&R FFL or I would have better pricing."Can our form of government, our system of justice, survive if one can be denied a freedom because he might abuse it?" --Harlon Carter
