    is this a warranty issue?

New to this forum, I picked up a new Citadel tactical? .45 a few months back (first 1911 in many years) and have about 250 rounds of WWB through it without a single issue, shoots where I point it and groups are very respectable.
I do have one issue though its marking up my brass pretty badly. I've noticed that my chamber is real ruff and is transfering the marks onto the brass. I keep telling myself that its only cosmetic but its bothered me enough to not really want to shoot it anymore. Do you think this is a issue that Armscor would fix under warranty? Also It appears that there are chatter marks along each land down the entire lengh of the barrel.

You should call them and email these pictures to them! It wouldn't hurt or cost you anything to ask directly.

I would definitely contact the company and forward them those pictures. It doesn't hurt to try, and if there is in fact something wrong, hopefully they can take care of it. I cannot tell if the barrel is defective or not but your brass should not look like you went at it with sand paper.

        That chamber is ugly.

Maybe some RIA owners will chime in with some comparison pictures? I'm interested in whether this is a one-off problem or if it's what passes for acceptable at Armscorp.

A dremel with a polishing wheel will fix it right up.

If the factory won't fix it. They should send you a new barrel IMO.

I have an RIA barrel in my junk drawer that looks a lot like that except that the chatter marks are at the muzzle end. It was sent to me installed in a replacement RIA Tactical and it's one of the reasons I don't have an RIA pistol any more. Good luck getting anything better from Armscor on a warranty service, but it can't hurt to try.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

yuck, warranty might just get you another jacked up barrel. either try to selvage it or buy a new one from brownells.

Chamber looks like crap, but the marks near the end of the barrel just looks like lead buildup. It is a Citadel though and not a Springfield or Kimber, so I'm not surprised.

They will probably give you a new barrel that looks exactly like that one lol.

Stuff in rifling seem like carbon/lead built up. My Kimber looks like that after I shot it. Have to do some serious scrubbing if I want that gone. Since it does not really affect accuracy or function, most of time I just leave it alone.

As for the chamber, that's pretty ugly. But frankly, you got what you paid for. Factory might be able to replace a barrel that looks a little nicer (without that deep tooling scratch), but to get one that's nicely polish, you might as well find a gunsmith to fit a nicer barrel to it.
