question about a magazine blocking method

I know we don't know what "permanent" means when it comes to modifying assault clips to legal ones, but I wanted some opinions on this method. I ordered some "10 rd" magazines for my five-seven without asking if they were straight 10 rd mags or 20s blocked in some fashion. when I got them, I immediately took them apart. they're 20 rd pro-mags and the blocking method is solely the spring. they've fashioned a spring that has 10 extra feet of material so that the follower won't go past the 10 mark. I tried out all 3 and there's definitely no way to shove more than 10 in. do you guys think that would be good enough or would you recommend getting actual mag blocks and affixing those in as well? I'm out right now, but I can throw up a pic or two later to show what I'm taking about if you need.

That's a lot of spring. You could argue that it should suffice for a permanent block. It certainly can't be made to hold more rounds in the current configuration. It might be simpler to cut the spring an add a mag block though.

it was hard to fathom the rest after this...

sorry - I didn't take the time to understand the question... but felt compelled to point out the strangeness...

those work, just need to modify the bolt vector. but of course, that's illegal in Ca... we can only use 10 round neutered "assault clips"

That looks quite permanent to me.

Looks like the spring in my 10 round S&W Sigma mags.
