    US made HK45

Since when were the HK45 and HK45C started to be made completely in US? I thought they were still made in Germany but saw a couple that didn't have any German markings on them.

Are German made pistols even imported these days?

I believe it was around 2010 (date code BA) that they started making them in the states, but I'm sure an HK fan will be by to give an exact year soon.

Personally, I want nothing to do with a German gun made in the states despite the supposed identical and unaltered functionality. They lose a lot of their mystique this way. Every major manufacturer that brings their production facility to America takes a steep dive in quality such as Sig Sauer and Glock. I realize it makes sense considering the large market here and the ability to cut costs, but letting quality slip for any reason is a bad business decision, in my book.

I didn't know HK 45/45c are now made in US. Are HK USP45/USP45c still all made in Germany?

i think this thread may answer your question. but it's not official.

also, this is when they started assembly, not manufacturing. I believe HK45 and HK45C/T are all made in the US now. Rumors also, state, HK Germany is starting to manufacture frames again...not sure on this.

I have a HK45CT and nowhere on the gun shows any German proof marks. Not even the barrel. (Although my non-threaded barrel is made in Germany)

USP's are still made in Germany and i think assembled in the US.

I bought my HK45 back in June 2012 and it was made in Germany, maybe later lots have been manufactured here.
