    Glock shooting heavy to left

Hello everyone. So I just took my Glock out to the range and it was shooting heavy to the left. I don't know much about handguns but this is my first one and do I sight it in like rifles? I googled Glock sight tool and some tools came up that were pretty expensive? Are there any cheaper solutions that will work? Thank you.

some target pistols have adjustable sights, but if you dont see an adjustment on the rear sight then this chart is your next reference to go to:

You said you were new, so try this:

Bench the gun - set it on a bag or something stable and see if it still pulls

Have someone else (preferably more experienced) shoot it

Likely you're probably just not used to it, and these two solutions should offer some help. Which model do you have? Most Glock sights aren't adjustable, and I think the tool your'e seeing is for installation/removal

Congrats on your new gun, by the way

You can drift the rear sight for windage.

That chart is for 1-handed shooting.

This is one of the things where an actual trained/experienced person should watch you shoot and see what you are doing. (That wouldn't be me!)

The rear sight can be drifted for windage but that is not something that should be done this soon. Having an experienced pistol shooter fire from a rest is the best course of action. If it still shoots way left then you need to make adjustments. Most of the time its shooter error that causes pistols to be inaccurate. Since this is your first pistol I highly recommend attending a training class and learning how to use it properly.

At the range they had this posted and I was looking at it. I tried to correct them but it would still shoot to the left. I was also shooting at 25 yards which is the shortest distance they had. I might go to another gun range at a shorter distance and work my way up. I thought the rear one can be adjusted because there is a little notch at the side which I assumed is where the tool pushes the sight.

Would love to attend a class but I don't have any money as of now. I think I just need to start at a much shorter distance and move on up. Idk, hand guns are different than rifles. And here I thought shooting handguns would be much easier because you didn't have to sight them in and all that lol. Thanks for the info guys.

25 yards is really difficult for a new pistol shooter . Find a range where you can shoot 7 yards or even closer.

wow 25yrds is pretty far for a pistol imo
i usually stay within 7-15yrds with a pistol at my range

I had the same issue when I started with my Glock. Lots of things to consider but make sure that you have a proper grip and stance (If you ask someone who works at the range or another shooter who is shooting well they should be able to show you). One thing that helped me tremendously - with the thumbs forward grip you want to pull in with your support hand while pushing out with your strong hand. I personally put my index finger from my support hand across the front facing part of my trigger guard (how I was taught) but that may not be right for everyone.

And yes, try to find a range that will let you shoot at 7-10 yds to start and try to save up for a training class.

Hahahahah yea it was a bit tough. I only managed to get one in the 6" shoot n c. Definitely going to practice some more at 7 yards.

You can also try using Laserlyte cartridge trainer and target to practice. Most of the time, it is because you're not squeezing the trigger properly. The Laserlyte will show you where your aim is when you squeeze the trigger, without having to use a live round. That way you can concentrate on your trigger squeezing technique.

Like other have said, baby steps at 7yrds. No need to shoot at 25yrds. I'll bet money its your grip. Benchrest it at 7yrds,take your time and hold your breath as you press the trigger. Good luck.
