NICE! Build it...The only suggestion I may have is when your ready to shoot it, keep close eye to your ejection trajectory on the empty brass. But I think you'll be fine since your running a 10.5" barrel. People that build ar pistols with 7" barrels may or man not have over gassing issues. The pig should help a little bit also. If you don't know about over gassing, I suggest you research it, though you might get mixed reviews on what a "proper" ejection trajectory is. But so far lots tend to favor the 3'oclock- 5'o clock rule as it being a perfectly gassed ar pistol/ rifle. Iv had my share when I build my ar pistol
(7.5" barrel), I was ejecting at 1 o'clock but Iv never had any ftf or fte's what so ever. I was able to correct it almost close to a 3 o' clock trajectory with putting a heavier buffer. Still shoots great with no issues but even better on the recoil. keep us posted and put up some pics when your done with it.

Sounds like a nice setup. The one thing I didn't think of when building my first pistol was the charging handle. Now I know that I prefer oversized/ambi charging handles. I wish I could drop the money on one from Ranier Arms

Pretty much the reason I wont buy one. That and I cant see myself shooting how it is intended with that thing. You might keep a copy of the ATF letter but ultimately who knows how much that would help

But know that in my case it happen I think more than a year ago, with the outpouring of 80% lowers now AR-15 Pistol are more common so maybe they are not that ignorant anymore as they were before

with the help of google info on the brace.

Damn if these don't look like an easy end run around getting an SBR stamp! Nice!SB15 Pistol Stabilizing Brace

Yes, but from what I understand, the CA DOJ can make up their own rules and interpret the law as they see fit, and LEO's won't just look at the ATF letter and let you go...

ATF determinations/opinions are not binding on CADOJ and the 58 DA's as it applies to CA law.

all that letter says is that the feds won't arrest you for having a federally-defined SBR. it says nothing about CA's separate SBR laws.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

(Not telling YOU what to do, just sharing what I do)

                              Safe Use Guidelines:

Take to range / transport with upper and lower disassembled, no Buffer Tube Attachments.

Assemble at range in booth/firing position. Tie Towel/Shemagh as a improvised recoil pad.

Fire from the shoulder and have my fun.

When done shooting, disassemble for transport home.
