I usually tap on my pins on the opposite side of the breach idk if it really matters, but if its new and hasnt been taken apart before id imagine its gonna be tougher, just give it some firm taps with something hard and see what happens. I dont think you can break anything. My 12 gauge has some tight fitting pins in it
