I am new in a 1911 flatform handgun. I just recently acquired a SA Trophy Match 1911 and will be going to the range this Saturday. I am looking for this tool just to be on a safe side before I take down and clean. anybody knows where to get them or any tips and tricks on this procedure.

Make sure you are careful enough not to overshoot the plunger...otherwise you'll put a nice big arc shapped scratch on your slide

Just dont slide it across the frame, its not hard. do it a couple times before wasting your money on a useless "tool"

A small piece of black electrical tape will work. That is a nice pistol as a 'starter' 1911.Comment
