Ruger SR22 SSE

Kind of a dumb question but is any lgs currently doing sse on the ruger sr22? I'd like to make that my last purchase before the end of the year, seeing as they may or may not bring the sr22 back to ca and I know there's demand for it as every time one goes up in the marketplace it gets bought right away.

I just thought it was since a few people on here were saying that sse on such an inexpensive gun wasn't worth it.

I talked to the folks at ocarmory and they said it wasn't possible since the sr22 has a fixed barrel.

I thought the same but if you fire up that old web searcher and look for SR22 barrel replacement you'll see that the barrel comes off the frame very easily. So it would be a matter of someone coming up with the SSE barrel to do the job. But they'd have to believe that there is a big enough market to warrant the investment.

I was lucky and picked up a his and hers SR22 a month before the fell off the list.

How are see barrels made? are they welded? Maybe I'd be able to make one and by ordering 2 barrels and welding them together?
