Price check on a 4" Bright Stainless Python

Seriously, Pythons in good to excellent condition run $1,000-$1,300 typically. Something more rare will get more money. The Bright Stainless 4-inch seems to be harder to find than 4-inch models in Royal Blue or even factory Nickel. Personally I've wanted a 4-inch Bright Stainless for a long time, but never seen one for sale. I have a Royal Blue and sold a 4-inch factory nickel plated model.

Could be worth more if you have the correct box and the paperwork (manual, test fire target, etc) that the gun came in/with. It's also important that it have the original stocks on it. Some put the price on the bright SS lower as they were newer issue; they feel the older ones were better crafted. Either way they are fantastic guns, I have a 4 inch in E-Nickel that is the smoothest revolver I have ever fired.

The serial for this Python is PY04XX. Can we tell the manufactured date and the finish?

$1200 ish? Less would be a good deal. Over $1300 would probably take longer to sell..

It's manufactured after 1985. You may have to call Colt for the exact year. There doesn't seem to be serial number ranges available for the later years.

I don't think they can tell you the factory finish without paying for a factory letter.

It is post 1985, call Colt at 800-962-COLT and they will tell you the year, and if you are nice and they are nice they MIGHT tell you the finish but I doubt it. It looks like Bright Stainless, they had stopped doing nickel by that time. The stocks also look correct. Is that the right box numbered to the gun and the right manual?
