    Wooden hard sided case?

I've recently started wood working and I'm looking for projects to do to help practice.

I can't seem to find a good reason why not, but here's a quick logic question.

Any reason why I can't build a box for my hand guns out of wood as long as it is secure and it locks?

They used to be very popular with bullseye pistol shooters. Google 'bullseye pistol box' and look at the images. These are harder to find now.

I can donate some scraps, they will be too small for the structure of the box but would be good for inlays, knobs and such.
