So I'm doing a ppt this AM and while at the place start looking around. I always try to buy something from a shop that is doing my ppt. They have a bull barreled 18" upper that I've eyeballed on line from time to time and next thing I know its in the back of my car on the way home. I'm halfway there and I smack my forehead! Hey, I say, I can swing by this other shop and pick up a pistol I did a ppt at a couple of weeks back and save some drive time and hassle. I go in that place and while I'm standing around I spot a Kimber Target II in 10mm. I've been wanting that one for a while. I have heard so many stories of regret when one did not buy when they could I say. "I'll take it".
Kind of an expensive morning and now I don't even want go surf the private sales area.

OP, how long has it been since you started in this hobby?

Shot very casually for almost 20 years. Got more interested when I found myself at the range very regularly a couple of years ago. That's when I realized there was more to life than my two pistols.
