HK P2000 shooting low?

Do the HK P2000 and 2000SKs generally shoot low?

I was shooting my P2000SK that I got from another calguns member and had amazingly tight groupings, but it appeared to be about .25" - .5" lower...Do I need to cover my POI with the front sight? or is it the standard 6 o clock hold

Most hand guns shoot high you aim @ 6. HK's tend to shoot spot on. Just need to adjust your poa.

I have a friend who has both and when I got to shoot them they were both hitting dead-on at about 5 yards, when we were shooting at each other's bullet holes.

The sight picture I usually start with is bisecting the target I am aiming at. Using a 6 o'clock sight picture, when shooting at a 1" dot, would cause it to hit about .5" low

You don't give a distance you are shooting at, but by "amazingly tight groups" are you saying the bullets were falling atop each other.

No not 6 o clock. You need to cover your POI if using HK stock sights. Use sight image #3. And yes, I concur. HKs are surprisingly accurate.

My P2000 9mm (DA/SA) will shoot somewhat low if using a six o' clock sight picture---you can aim a bit higher, or replace the rear sight with a slightly taller sight. The accuracy of the pistol is remarkable---also keep in mind that heavier bullets (124 instead of 115) also tend to a bit shoot higher. Good luck with yours!

Sight immage one and two do not make much sense to me. #3 is the only to go in my opinion. H&k is the only way to go actually

Most hand guns out of the box shoot straight and are designed for a "center mass" sight picture, so if you are use to a 6 o'clock hold type picture they will typically shoot low for you. You can easily change your POA/POI but swapping out the front sight with one of a different size to suit your individual preferences. IMHO, whatever you decide, make them all the same (either 6 o'clock or center mass).

I have a friend who likes the 6 o'clock sight picture, so we swapped all the sights and adjusted them accordingly. Now he's the only one that can shoot a plate rack with his gun a to everyone else it shoots low.

OP I assume you are talking about firm bench-rested groups yes? And at what distance? .25-inch variance can be a lot of factors. At distance, I can see that difference just between FMJ and hollow point. Like others posting, I agree about HK accuracy being awesome and depending on distance, I most often use target sighting #3 above.
