Ruger SR40 Problem.

First off, I love this gun and it has been great. Last Sunday I decided I wanted to customize it a little and make it better, so after a lot of research I purchased the Galloway Precision smooth it kit #4. The kit came with the ghost ultimate reset bar a tension spring, aluminum polished strike indicator and a new polished plunger and I ordered a heavy striker spring on top.

So today I decided I was just going to install the new tension spring and ultimate trigger reset since I've seen a couple videos on it I felt good. I got them both installed seemingly exactly how I saw it in the video and every thing LOOKS right. But now, with the slide off I can pull the trigger and it goes, it breaks when I barely depress the trigger safety finger, then when I put the gun all the way back together the trigger safety depresses all the way down and the trigger just won't budge...im a little stumped and am ready to just tear it back down I guess but I was wondering if anyone else has had something like this or if anyone thinks they know what it might be.

Any help would be appreciated, supposed to take it backpackin with me Friday and I was really hoping to shoot it.

so i guess i figured it out, i figure ill post it just incase someone else has this issue, i took it all the way back apart, just to make sure everything was correct and everything was exactly how it should have been, just like i thought. i put it back together, put an empty mag in and tried to dry fire...wouldnt budge. so just to kinda see if it had to do with something in the slide and to see when the trigger would break i pulled the trigger as i pulled the slide back at the same time, bam, trigger broke just as i barely pulled it back a bit, re cocked it and tried it again trigger didnt budge. i repeated the same process as before but this time after re cocked it it didnt go at first, then, bam..i continued to re cock and dry fire a bunch of times and the first few times on some pulls it didnt wanna bidge and then it did. now after doing it like 20 times it seems to be back to normal..well, better than normal, with the new galloway parts in there the trigger pull feels freaking awesome.

weird, but glad all is well..hopefully, guess well truely find out after my next shooting...will update.

Glad you figured it out but be careful the SR series is not ment to be dry fired a lot.

It actually says in the owners manual, as long as there is a magazine in it, it won't hurt anything, but I hear ya, I stil hate doin it. I have snap caps just for that.

I have an SR9c and I dry fired it all the time without snap caps at all and it still goes bang every time!

You can also just take the mag disconnect safety out and then it doesn't matter at all. A lot of people do just dry fire them without a care and they are fine...im just overly cautious with my stuff,especially expensive things like my guns.
