340 PD is on the roster so you're good to go. The extra SKU-s are special runs. As a side issue, you *cannot* do single action exemption on any short J frame as they fail the barrel length and overall length requirement.
I have a 360 PD which is also scandium frame and titanium cylinder, just has an exposed hammer. They are *very* light and small, so you have to make sure that you hold them properly (fingers away from the gap) and that you don't limp wrist. If you do it right, they are very shootable. If you don't, you'll be hurting.sigpicNRA Benefactor MemberComment

You should be able to order it.
However, consider the regular m&p340. It weighs about two ounces more because it doesn't have the titanium cylinder. However, you're not restricted from using <120 grain .357 loads. I also like the night sight on the regular 340 than the fiber optic sight found on the PD.
MidwayUSA sells the titanium cylinder if you want to swap cylinders later.
Both should be on the roster and will have the crappy internal lock.Last edited by jenericsig; 09-14-2013, 9:19 PM.Comment

As someone that carries a 642 Jframe what is gained on the 340PD?
slightly lighter, sight, etc"Americans have the right and advantage of being armed - unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust the people with arms." James Madison
