    DROS Timing Question

Started a DROS on a handgun with Transaction Date/Time of 08/14/13 @03:43 PM. New handgun purchase and second DROS with transaction date/time of 09/13/13 @ 10:00 AM. Will this be a problem and will 2nd DROS be denied? Should 2nd DROS have been started after 3:43 PM on 9/13/13 or am I good to go? Looks like just a matter of hours but, Sacramento may shoot it down. What do you say?

Second DROS should have been started at 3:44pm on 9/13/13, unless it was a PPT

Was the previous DROS a PPT?

Both DROSs were for new handguns. On reexamination, I also agree that second DROS should have been started subsequent to 3:43 PM on 9/13/2013 . Think I ought to just wait it out with fingers crossed or contact dealer and resubmit DROS?

More than likely it will be denied. You'll have to pay the fee again.

You should DROS again no matter what IMO. I wouldn't even accept it if it somehow slipped through. With firearms you should take extra care to do everything by the book. Remember, the law in this area targets the purchaser, you:

No person shall make an application to purchase more than one handgun within any 30-day period.
The FFL is protected if DoJ doesn't catch the error and flag it, but is prohibited from releasing the handgun to you if so notified:

No handgun shall be delivered whenever the dealer is notified by the Department of Justice that within the preceding 30-day period the purchaser has made another application to purchase a handgun and that the previous application to purchase involved none of the entities specified in subdivision (b) of Section 27535.

My FFL said that CADOJ would kick back your DROS even if it in only ONE minute too early

I err on the side of caution and do my DROS after 31 days.

I guess it will cost you another DROS fee and the additional 10-day wait.
