Converting a Sig Sauer Platinum Elite to 9MM

Couldn't find any reasonably priced 9MM in Platinum Elite so settled for .40SW.

Would anyone have any info on being able to match slides if I wanted to convert it over to 9MM?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't think you'll find a "platinum elite" slide for your conversion and the slide is one of the unique things about the platinum series sigs. You can probably use a slide from a 9mm Equinox. However, that wouldn't be much different than just buying a 9mm Equinox and replacing the grips with the Hogue aluminum grips.

I own both the platinum 9mm and 40 and have actually been debating selling them both. I also own the 1911 but that's one of my favorite guns. If I decide to sell them I'll let you know. They are very nice guns.

    Here's my platinum collection...

Bar-Sto makes a conversion barrel that would fit into your .40 slide and is chambered in 9mm but it does not change the fact that the breechface and the extractor are set up for .40.

The coversion barrel is OK for range use, but don't use it for self defense as it will have a 2%-3% failure to extract.

As far as finding a slide, just watch gunbroker and wait for someone to sell a top. It will take a long time.

You could also comission a smith to make a slide that looks the same, but that is big $$$

Do you mind sharing why you'd sell them?
