    Glock 22 "snappy" for anyone?

I am thinking about picking up a Gen 4 Glock 22, and I was curious if anyone felt the recoil is snappy? I carry a .40 cal most days, but its a heavy steel gun. Anyone have any impressions about the G22? Thanks.

I didn't care for the .40 S&W while shooting a Glock. Had better luck with it out of an all steel Browning HP.

Mine is good. It feels less snappy then my old Springfield XD9.

            Nope, proper grip is everything.

                I don't find the Gen4 .40's particularly snappy.

They are definitely snappier and harder to get back on target than a 9mm. I've read a lot of reports that the Gen 4 RSA smooths out the recoil impulse (snappiness) on .40 models. Never shot a Gen 4 in .40 myself.

In general, I prefer 9mm and .45. .40 feels a lot more like .357 to me, which I enjoy out of heavy forged steel guns.

I don't have any experience with a Gen4 G22, but I shot a Gen4 G23 side by side with a Gen3 G23, and in all honestly they felt pretty much the same to me. The .40 round is definitely a little "snappier" then a 9mm due to the weight of the projectile and the speed. However, if you look, you can get lighter recoiling ammunition. For me the sweet spot is between 800-1000 FPS. Anything over 1K fps for me is a little too uncomfortable in the .40 polymer package.

The 180gr will definitely be less "snappy" then the 165gr.

While I don't have a gen4 22, I can comment on my gen3 22C. Overall, the gun has more snap/thump from recoil than full metal framed guns. I would not say it is drastic difference though. My 22C is easy to handle and the recoil does not cause me to be off target on a follow up shot. I have not shot a standard barrel before, so it might have a little more recoil than mine. Overall, I really enjoy my glock and think it would be a great purchase. It has never had a FTF or FTE, even with the worst of ammo.

I have at least one of all Glock .40's. I have never found them snappy or the recoil to be excessive. Proper stance and grip will solve that problem for any average size adult male.

Compared to a G17 yeah I would consider it snappy . With enough practice easy to overcome ...
