    Pistol conversions for .22lr?

Any opinions on the advantage arms glock conversion? Whats a good price on them lately? Are they worth it in $ saved on ammo?

Are there any pistol conversions for S&W MP pistols?

I love my Kimber 1911 conversion. It brought new life to my neglected Classic II. Now it sees more use than my PRO CDPII.

AA is good. I have one for my G17 and feel that it is worth it. I am training with the same gun so that's beneficial. Kinda picky with ammo but HV ammo works well. Rem Golden Bullets work fine for mine.

It should be around $250+ brand new from what I have seen.

Not sure if there are any for M&P.

        Money saved?

Last I looked I was getting 9mm cheaper than 22pr if I could find it.

I'd hold off on that. No experience with AA but I almost got one for glock but read a lot of feeding issues so it scared me away from it. For an extra $100 ($345 total) figured MKIII was the better way to go

I used to own the conversion for a glock 22. It ran like a top. I hated the glock, but that actually made it a blast to shoot.

Right now you may not save very much money. Down the road you probably will. And conversion kits are in my opinion, as fun if not more fun than buying another pistol.

There is no conversion for the M&P yet. I've heard rumors of both Apex and AA working on them, but nothing definitive yet.

I bought a Advantage Arms .22 lr conversion slide for my Glock 19 a coupe years ago. I am pretty happy with it, its reliable with Remington Golden Bullets and CCI Mini Mags only.

It was a good thing to have two years ago when you could reliably buy .22 lr ammo for $20 a brick. Now, 9mm is not much more expensive than a lot of .22 and easier to find.

Unless you have cases of Remington Golden Bullets or Mini Mags I would pass on the conversion slide.

If you do want to buy one, PK Firearms has them in stock.

My Advantage Arms kit works great with a wide variety of ammo, they're generally well regarded.

Bought a Tactical Solutions conversion for my 1911. Really accurate and runs on most 22.
Broke a few times, great customer service, but it did break a few times.

I've had an Advantage Arms conversion for full size Glocks for several years now. It runs perfectly on Remington Golden Bullets, CCI, and just about anything other than Federal (which AA tells you right out won't run) and the bottom line .22 ammo. Not much of a price break now, with .22 hard to get, but down the line, it will save you cash.

I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

I guess it depends on what savings the OP is referring to. At $0.09 per rd for .22 LR vs $0.30 per rd for 9mm (I think these estimates are reasonable for retail), that's still more than a 1:3 ratio. After 1,000 rds, that's $210 savings, which almost pays for the kit. The key is making each shot count when training with it.

Now if it's just plinking around, then any .22 firearm, or any firearm for that matter, is not as cheap to shoot anymore as before. But that's nothing new.

One challenge is finding .22 ammo

Exactly, when I use my AA G19 kit I try to learn something from each shot and make each one count if you will. I still have two cases of Remington Golden bullets I paid $250 each for so its a .5 cent around game until I dig into my recently bought .22 then it will be a .10 cent a round game.

A few years ago a AA kit really saved you a lot of money when .22 lr ammo was .03 -.05 cents a round and 9mm was .18-.25 or so.

AA for my 3rd Gen Glock 19 runs great, it likes Remington Golden BB best...not that I can find any.
