92S - "S" designates Safety relocated and redesigned. Moved to left side of slide. Became Decocking/Safety lever.
92S-1 - Mag release moved to rear of trigger guard. Safety became ambidextrous. More visible sights.
92SB - "B" designates firing pin "Block".
92F - "F" designates "Final", in number of design refinements for U.S. Military. Note: was originally 92SBF, but SB was dropped for simplicity.
92FS - Slide Overtravel Stop added.
92SB "Compact" - Cut down version of 92SB, 13rd mag, shorter slide/barrel unit.
92SB "Compact" Type M - Further reduction of the grip area, 8rd mag.
M9 - U.S. Military version, made in Accokeek, Maryland.
92G - "G" stands for "Gendarmerie". No external safety, decocker only. First produced for the French National Police.
