    Type of Ammunition limits?

One more question before I put the keyboard away tonight... can I bring my hydra shock and gold dot ammo to California? (afterall, its probably not safe ammo, what with the way its designed and all...) Some of the boxes say law enforcement ammunition on them, but they were sold to the public/me from a retail store. Are there any type of ammo limits on what can be brought in? (I'm not talking about armor piercing here, just big puffy .45 hollow type points) I would guess not since I seem to be able to bring my "unsafe" guns in. But it would be nice to know if anyone has a moment to answer.

    Thanks in advance.

Any ammo is ok as long as it's not tracers...
Laws and common sense is all up to interpretation to us humans... and guess what? Humans suck.

Yes you can, but San Fransicko is working on banning that kind of ammo just FYI.

As others have said, no tracers, and no armor piercing handgun ammo.

And they are also working on banning magazines that can hold more than 10 rounds, including parts kits, and conversions. Check the sticky in the 2A forums to see the bills that are up for passage and signage.

Welcome to California, such as it is.

Steel or bi metal jacketed, not core.

Not true. Some localities have banned Black Talon. The penalties are levied PER ROUND.

Now that's a scary thought. Especially if you don't know, live in that location and just so happen to have a stash of Black Talons.

Isn't AP ammo also not allowed?

Or just happen to be driving through and get in a car accident or something. It's ridiculous that such laws can be enacted.

WRONG, San Francisco HAS banned all expanding and military ammunition. This was a done deal month's ago.
