Dan Wesson Valor - Black Duty Finish - Range Report

I finally got a chance to take my Valor to the range.

I took it to On Target yesterday/Labor Day. (Off topic - On Target no longer have air conditioning in the shooting area - super hot, I was sweating being in there. After my session, I asked the RO behind the counter, he said that it was too expensive to have air conditioning & to recycle all the air that has all the carbon/etc from the guns. So now they just have fresh air from the outside.) Wow... it kind sucked on a 90-100 degree day...

Here is a brief range report. I used both the Herter's & the American Eagle ammo. ZERO FTF/FTE, no problems at all. I used the DW 8 Round mag, 2 Wilson 47D 8 round mags, and 2 x 10 round Chip McCormick mags, every mag worked perfectly. The Valor had a nice crisp break, low felt recoil, easy follow up shots. I was working on shooting with both eyes open, the Valor is easy to shoot, easy to follow up shots. Needless to say, I LOVE this gun, easily my favorite in my stable!

thx! got mine on GB... keep on looking, yea I see a lot of SS out there & not too many black duties. Next on my list is probably a DW Specialist or DW VBOB... hopefully before the end of the year.

        Gunbroker.

Can you list the price breakdown for it ie shipping, SSE, etc.

Was it hard to get the seller to ship to CA?

        Indoor range without AC---not good

              Top tier pistol...very nice!

The air was a great thing about On Target. Shame they turned it off.

My Dan Wesson PM-7 does NOT like Dan Wesson mags. CMC or the 47D's. Glad yours work!

              Enjoy!

I had to sell my DW PM-7 to fund this Valor , but when I had my PM-7, it ran fine with all the mags too.

Shooting with both eyes open is the way to go. You situational awareness is greatly improved.

I'll take it! Not kidding. See anything in my sig you'd want to trade for? Oh well I secured the stainless version but wanted the duty. I'll send it to Severn's for the black "hard hat" finishing.

                      Gotta love those DW's....great guns!

If you ever have the time and money, send it to Dave Severn's, he's a DW tuner, so to say. He'll make it run like melted buttah ovah lobstah! Hell, he'll make any 1911 run smooth.

DW's are one of my favorite 1911's. I love their clean lines.

That gun looks like garbage! I'll be generous and pay you 500 bucks to get it off your hands

I too have been looking for this but I don't want to over pay on GB.
