    Impulse buy.. 9mm Nano

Found a great new FFL in the Orange County area today.. Went to check out OC Firearms in Fountain Valley... Great guys, very friendly and they seem to have killer pricing.

Was checking out the Glock 19 gen4s they had on sale but I like different stuff so when they showed me this I had to get it.

It's not like we can CCW in OC, but I can dream.. lol

    Baretta Nano in 9mm

Read good stuff on it and I haven't seen on in CA before.. Couldn't beat $430..

Reccomend you check out the store, friendly and he seemed open to ordering up hard to find stuff.. he also had dirt cheap SSE prices.

out of curiosity, what is a "dirt cheap SSE price?" I've been looking at a bersa thunder but have a feeling the cost of SSE will make it not worth it.

Didn't realize it was a fashion statement.. I suppose a Glock is pretty?.. lol

If it makes you feel any better, it looks better with the flat bottomed mag, but holds better with the extension

Felt nice in the hand and pointed very well.. very smooth exterior.

$430 plus tax and $25 DROS.. seemed more than fair for an off roster deal.

Will do in 10 days.. here's a review of it..

It was by complete surprise that the Beretta Nano became one of my favorite carry guns. I reluctantly took an assignment to review the Nano even though I had never had much affection for Beretta firearms, and I had already reviewed a number of similar 9mm pistols. I could never have expected the Nano to become my favorite gun to carry among the micro-9s. In fact, the Nano sits comfortably in my pocket as I write this review. Despite my initial hesitation, I found the Nano to be a nearly perfect deep concealment pistol. In many ways, the Beretta Nano is a typical micro-sized 9mm with a 3-inch barrel. It is a double-action striker-fired semi-auto with a capacity of 6+1 rounds. The pistol measures only 5.6 inches long and 4.2 inches high. The width is an impressive .9 inches, making pocket carry a realistic option. The gun tips the scale at nearly 20 ounces unloaded, which is certainly not a featherweight in this class of pistols, but is still manageable for deep concealment.

                    Nothing..

Or I guess it's built into the price.. but since the MSRP is $475 and I paid $430 then I'm not seeing a big (or any) charge for the SSE.

Same with the Glocks.. the 19 was priced at something like $560.. INCLUDING the SSE..

Like I said, pretty damn good prices at this place.

well that works. maybe the shop doesn't charge for SSE if its a gun they have in stock. most shops in my area i've called want $100-150. making the bersa i want in to a $450 gun. sucks.

                      congrats on the purchase.

I hate the extension mag on mine. It's like they just gave up on the thing and made the ugliest, blocky extension they could. Other than that it's a nice little shooter and carries well. I don't think the gun itself is ugly at all, it's a well made, very compact little 9.

In free states, the competitive going price for a Nano is $399. A good sale price is like $385 ($372.86 on Grab-A-Gun right now, which may be the lowest I've seen).

It would have been cooler if it was textured to match the grip or otherwise stylized a little, I guess, but I find that it matches the curve of both sides of the frame, is exactly the right width and length (front-back) so it fits smoothly, and it feels just right in the hand. Looks are questionable, but it certainly feels just about perfect and it functions great. My Nano lives with the flush mag in it but the 8-rounder is the spare if I carry a spare.

Enjoy the Nano! It's a very good gun. It's shockingly accurate despite the short barrel; you just have to get used to a long, heavy-ish trigger pull if you aren't. Most people hit low because of that, but the gun is actually capable of extremely good accuracy. For whatever reason I'm a great shot with mine, even with the short sight radius and long trigger pull. I've put maybe 400 rounds through mine, which isn't a whole lot but it's a carry gun, not a range gun, and it has fed, fired, and ejected with 100% reliability with a broad range of ammo types. I put about 60 Federal HST 147 grain through it and it loved those, as well as about 20 HST 124 grain +P and it ate those up just fine as well. Shoots everything straight. Thin, light, short, controllable, accurate, very reliable, rated for any amount of +P... what more could you want??? Solid choice.

BTW -- a bit harder to do, aesthetically I guess, with the FDE frame there, but the Talon grips are really nice. My only gripe on the Nano was a pretty smooth frame. Rubber talon grips (which I prefer over the sand paper type, especially for a carry gun that often touches my skin) made a huge difference. http://talongungrips.com/grips/beretta/nano.html

AND -- don't forget that the plastic grip frame is NOT the serialized firearm. If you want to experiment with stippling or something, don't be afraid. You can get new grip frames in OD Green, FDE, Black, Pink for $23 from Brownell's. Very freakin' cool to be able to swap that out. Or, apparently, in the future you'll be able to take that inner chassis and put it into a larger frame. It has the capability of being a hugely modular firearm since it's basically just the trigger group and metal inner frame that are the serialized "firearm" and the rest can be shipped to your door. What are OC Firearms' hours? Looks like their site's down.
