Went to pickup this puppy today:

When I got to the shop, my FFL was on the phone, so an older gentleman and I struck up conversation. He was friendly, had a good sense of humor, and introduced himself as John. He didn't seem like a customer, but more like a friend of the shop. He was curious about the gun I was there to pickup and didn't seem familiar with the model when I told him. I offered to let him check it out. Few minutes later, my FFL brings the gun out, in single shot config. John's eyes get real wide as he checks out the odd config and after we explained SSE to him, he said his shop could easily make these long barrels. I said, "You have a shop? Which shop is that?". He said, "Jardine's Custom". I was floored! Here I was talking to a kind, laid back gentleman, and it turns out he's John Jardine, one of the premiere 1911 gunsmiths. All in all, not a bad day
