For the last few weeks I have been on the hunt for a 1911 with a rail for around 1k. Well, I found the Kimber TLE/RL II and now I found a SW 1911PD. The only problem is that EVERYONE I call has the 1911PD but it doesn't have a rail and they don't list it. Whats going on with this gun? Is it out of production or just starting production? I can find some online even seen a few in SS but no one locally has them. Anyone heard any news about this gun? It seems to have really good reviews and is about 150-200 less then the Kimber.

According to Gallery of Guns, the railed 1911PDs are not on the California roster of approved guns. I know of one FFL in the bay area that was selling them as the rostered "SW1911PD", but don't know if they still are.Disenfranchised NRA Benefactor Life Member.

I've seen one at Turner's so they must be on the list.

I love mine. Very accurate and it has a great finish. Good luck on the search."Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid." -Han SoloComment
