I really want a Ruger LCP...

but I can't easily get one in CA so I am now starting to lean towards a Kahr PM9. The only combat pistol I have is my Sig P229R but I do monthly IDPA pistol matches at my local range and would like to get my girlfriend and other friends to shoot with me. I have also been itching for a subcompact for some reason (dont know why, its not like I can CCW here) so I want to kill two birds with one stone: Gun for my GF to shoot IDPA, and subcompact.

I have never shot a subcompact. Is the PM9 going to kick worse than my .40 S&W 229? If so then it may not be good for my little girlfriend. Any other suggestions?

Also, is this a real up and comming Sig product or a photoshop?

Felt recoil will be worse with the Kahr Arms PM-9 than with the SIG P-229.
