WOLF MILITARY CLASSIC 9mm

i just picked up a glock 17.
what is the general consensus on using wolf military classic 9mm ammo.
i know with wolf you either love it or hate it, but is it effective and reliable?
pros and cons?

It is generally pretty reliable through glocks, never had a problem in any of my glocks shooting it. Its cheap, smells funny, and its dirty but it gets the job done.

I had a bad experience with wolf MC. I ran about 600rd through one of my cheapo hand gun and it messed up its feed ramp. I still have 400rd of wolf MC sitting in my room. It will be my emergency ammo(when walmart decide stop selling ammo in CA). I guess is kind of hit and miss, lots people use it and never complain about it. It should be fine in the glock, I never hear any glocktalk member complain about them other than being dirty.

What price are you looking at for that stuff? Last I checked, Winchester White Box at WallyWorld was the same or cheaper. Since I reload, that's the stuff I stick to, these days.

I've never had a problem with ANY ammo in my Glock 17... unless it was the ammo itself (bad primer, no powder, etc). That includes steel, aluminum or brass cased.

My 900$+ SIGs and my $300 SIG p6s have no problems with it.

Just went to walmart yesterday for 600 rds of WWB 9mm and it was still $18.42 per box of 100. Online, shipped from Aimsurplus (and some other place), the newer polymer coated wolf 9mm comes to about $180 for 1000 rounds making it cheaper ($200 and change for 1000 rds of WWB at walmart).

Since wolf doesn't rip my gun apart like some people claim it does, it's just as good. Running that extra patch through the slightly dirtier gun after using wolf is worth that savings. No reason to not use Wolf. I use it in my M&P9.

What did it do to the feed ramp? I'm surprised the steel case was harder than the barrel steel.


For Wolf vs WWB, I've got nothing against steel case ammo, but if the price difference is $20 on 1000 rounds, I'd go for the brass case WWB, partly because I've shot thousands of rounds of it with no problems. Heck, you could sell the used brass for the difference.

Yeah, once you get into that kind of savings, it's hard to deny. The indoor range I shoot at doesn't allow steel case, so it's a moot point for me anyway.
