What is going on with 22LR pistols?

They seem to be scarce brand new. The ones I wanted (the M&P and SR22) seem to be off roster? Any new ones coming down the pike? Does anyone know?

No new handguns will be getting on the roster without the microstamping thing. So basically don't expect any new handguns on the roster period.

the best current production 22lr pistol seems to be from Ruger, and their backlog is as long as the ammo one it seems. I've been looking for a MkIII for....well forever now.

I would look at the Buckmark if I were you. Way easier to strip down than the MKIII.

The M&P22 has thoroughly impressed me. Feeds very reliability, good trigger, accurate, and easy to shoot.

However, I still prefer my Buckmark.

Except revolvers - they are exempt. A better statement is that no new semi automatic handguns will be getting on the roster.

Yes because revolvers are much safer and won't hurt any flies compared to semiautomatic handguns

                  Oh silly CA

If you're only getting one, i would go with the backmark. Best trigger ever. Fun to customize.

That's funny in several highly inappropriate ways...

Sarcasm aside, the official argument is that revolvers don't leave casings at the crime scene, so there is no point in microstamping. It appears that antis really believe microstamping will help solve crimes...

CZ with a Kadet kit. Best option in my honest opinion.
                            Definitely harder to find though.

IMSOHO the Ruger Mark III is the finest .22 handgun around.

The Ruger SR22P was a great pistol but is off-roster for the time being.

The S&W M&P 22 is a good pistol although larger than it needs to be.

                              The Buckmark is pretty OK.
