I believe the Pro Raptor II is off roster. The full size and the ultra (3") are on the roster. In any case, that seems to be a good deal!

A GP100 then.... I have a 4" SS one. Love it! Can shoot Hollywood style flames with hot .357s and plink away with some mild .38s.

On the roster, and should be relatively easy to find.

Kimber Custom II is a fine, well made 1911. I have one and prefer it over many others.

Go to a firing range with a wide range of 1911 models for rent. Internet research only takes you so far, recommendations on this thread should only be used as a place for you to start, you need to find what feels good in your hands.

I own a S&W 29 with a 4" barrel and a Ruger Superredhawk .454 Casull so the weight is not an issue. Unfortunately I own several large caliber firearms so I'm familiar with the ammo prices. Anywhere from $1.30-2.50 for my .50ae and .454Casull about $1.00 for the .44mag. I'm a little old school I only have one polymer gun S&W M&P22 not a big fan of polymer.

In this case, I think you'll love the S&W 686 .357mag. I've never shot a revolver before and last Sunday was the first time I ever tried it. It was pretty enjoyable before fatigue set in. I think I wasn't holding the revolver correctly and/or I was too careful about not putting my finger too far forward/close to the cylinder and get it blown off. If you're already used to revolvers I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

A .357 revolver can do no wrong in my eyes! And that S&W SSR is about as slick as you can find these days.




But I have to say, that Colt series 70 is looking pretty sexy!
