    Can't decide which AK pistol

I'm making another trip to JG Sales with my LGS owner/friend. I plan on getting either the Yugo PAP M85PV, Krinkov style pistol in 5.56x45mm or the Yugo PAP M92PV, Krinkov style pistol in 7.62x39.

The 7.62 pistol is $649 and the 5.56 version is on sale at $499.

Of course it has to have a BB installed and be brought in as a SSE (my guy has everything for that).

The appealing thing on the 5.56 version is the lower price. What concerns me are the mags, I think they are proprietary. I can get extra mags while at JG for $35 each. I'll want at least two spare so that eats up $70 of the savings. I'm sure figuring out a 10 round block wouldn't be too big of a problem, but it's something that I wouldn't have to do with the 7.62 version since I own plenty 10/30 AK mags already.

My last concern is if the law banning 10/30 mags passes and we are only allowed to use 10 round mags. I'm not sure there is a 10 rounder for the 5.56 pistol.

Right now I'm leaning towards the more expensive 7.62 version, but if someone has some insight on as to why the 5.56 gun would be better, I'm all ears. The extra cash could go towards another Mosin or a spam can of ammo.

7.62, if anything, better ballistics out of the short barrel
If you need help with any stragglers, call a friend, because it's likely that they have a gun. America in particular have done exceptionally well taking care of the problem, as there are 1.12 guns for every 1 American citizen. So throw a rock, you'll probably hit a gun, pick up that gun, then shoot a zombie.

Well J&G just make the price even sweeter on the 5.56 for a Labor Day sale: 399.95.

And matched the 7.62 to what the 5.56 was: 499.95

I would recommend the same over many of the PAP/CAI renditions. Sure, it's double the money, but it's built like a Swiss watch, and the milled-receiver ads some weight. The build quality between them is a marked difference.

However, as this is not something you are buying for "accuracy" and it's really just a novel/fun engagement, cost does play a factor. How much do you want to pay to get the same kind of smile? If not much, stick with the Dracos and PAPs. If you still want a high-quality firearm to go with those grins, get the Arsenal (running about $1399 CA SSE'ed and BB'ed).

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?
