    M&P Trigger Reset

I got my new M&P 40 and have about 200 rounds through it. I've been trying to focus on shooting after I hear/feel the trigger reset.

Once I feel/hear the trigger reset click, I begin to press down on the trigger again, however, sometimes the trigger will not break and release the striker.

Does anyone else notice that the trigger reset click is not enough to actually reset the trigger to set off the striker on the subsequent shot? I'm not sure if this is normal or just a problem with my handgun.

    Thank you.

Same thing with my 9c I figured it was my lack of experience. I don't have the problem when firing Sigs however. I just figured when I had the time and money I'd pop for an Apex kit.

I bought a M&P 9c knowing I couldn't feel the reset. Installed the ram kit and all is good now.

Guys is it true that the APEX RAM kit only works with M&P's with the older sear blocks?

If so, what can people with the newer sear blocks use? I was looking at the internals of my M&P and can now see why the reset is so weak. I can also see why S&W's newer slide stop is "bent in" to put pressure against the trigger bar so that the loop makes a louder click when it slides off the sear. My gun didn't come with the newer production slide stop so i'm wondering what my options are.

There isn't anything wrong with the reset

Unless you're used to a trigger with a solid, noticeable reset.

In which case, it's just taking the training wheels off.

I have now seen a million and one threads about the M&P reset, put 1000 rounds through mine and I still can't justify the Apex kit. The only time I notice any issue with the trigger is feeling a little grit when sloooow firing for bullseye. That seems to be smoothing out, but of course it could be I'm just getting used so used to it - you know, like when you jump in someone else's car and it's pulling to the left but they look at you funny when you mention it.

For me I like the look of the trigger and that is the only reason I got the polymer FSS kit. I figure since I have to pay $8 for shipping, just get the other parts now. If I want to get them later I would have to pay another $8 to ship.
I just like the look of the trigger and the feel of the polymer trigger compared to the aluminum. Also matches better with the frame, look wise. For me that is.
