Glock Lone Wolf plug question

Hello everyone, I just got my first Gen 3 Glock 17 Olive Drab I was looking at the Lone Wolf plug and it says, "Olive Drab framed Glocks have a slight chance of being damaged when using this plug." I like to know what kind of damage will it cause? Thanks

Manufacturers incorporate good aftermarket parts into future designs

So that might be why the Gen1,2,3&4 do not have a plug

Your Glock cannot take a poop if you plug its butt.

My G19 has one and my G20 doesn't. It's not necessary because a good Glock can take lots of abuse.

I use a Scherer Slug Plug in my G21 OD frame no big deal. Look these up.

The polymer on the OD frames were more prone to cracking at the seam line. There is something different in the old OD green polymer mix versus the black. They seem to have fixed it in the new FDE and new OD green frames but time will tell I guess.

Planning on doing a lot of combat roles I see? You know there is a rumor that that hole was actually put there for rock and water drainage from the trigger group right?


And last I Becker the plug was invented for mag changes because guys cried too much that their mags got hung up when trying to load so that makes it like a mag well.

Honestly, I think the hole is there just due to manufacturing processes and that it's not worth the extra cost for Glock to fill it with anything. It's not for drainage or whatever, it's just there. It is a nice little thing for accessory makers, in case people wanted to buy a plug though.

You know how "Croc" shoes are full of holes in the top? Well a couple made little charms to stick into them. The Mom started out just making some for her daughter...then her daughters friends wanted them.
