Hey guys, I have a Glock 17 Gen 4 on the way the and first thing I want to do is ditch the crappy stock trigger. I have shot a lot of glocks and I always said that the first thing I would if I ever bought a glock is put in a better trigger.
I have been doing a lot of searching on the internet and came across all kinds of trigger kits, connectors, spring kits, etc.....a lot of recommendations and lot of people posting things like "just buy a ______ , it's the best and you won't be disappointed" but I am looking for a little more specific advice that I am having trouble finding.
Most descriptions don't describe how the trigger functions, they just list out a long list of features but never explain the feel of the trigger or how they reset.
Before I start, this is going to be a home defense and range pistol. No competitions and no carrying. (Yes, even though this will be used for home defense, I would like to improve the trigger)
Most important to me is the "slack" or "take-up" after a trigger reset. I really like 1911 style triggers and I just had a bunch of work done on my Sig to get rid of this. I would like the same thing with the glock trigger. Basically, if I break a shot and slowly move the trigger forward to reset, I would like to next shot to be right there...no slack to get the trigger slack out to take the next shot.
Second is the pre-travel. (I guess this is what you call it.) I am ok with and understand the safety with having a little travel to break the first shot. As long as it is smooth and breaks clean, I am ok with this. However, like I mentioned above, I would like zero slack for follow-up shots.
Please let me know what you recommend. Also, video's of the trigger pulls would be great. Thanks.
