I didn't really notice much when I bought a glock 23 last week but when I went to pick it up today and looked it over outside, the finish is definitely different than the previous gen 3 I had. It has more of a silky feel to it and looks more like a satin finish. I didn't see anything online about them changing the finish, but I know I'm not imagining it.

Pics? You know where you are? You're in the jungle baby.... You're gonna............................................. -
Ya I prefer the gen 3 Teflon type finish. The newer gen 3's and the gen 4's have more of a dull finish that shows marks and scratches more. More tactical IMO.
The older Teflon type finish was practically indestructible IMO. I'm sure the newer finish is just as durable, it just shows more marks.Chris

I'll try to post some when I get home. It's more of a feel than a look. When I was holding it out in the sunlight and you look closely it looks like it has specks of every color of the rainbow in it, sort of like someone sprayed something on it. The glass case indoors it looks normal and when I first picked it up and noticed the different feel I figured it was the oil they pack them with. But I wiped it down and noticed something was different. I don't mind it it looks good, but it looks like this finish is easier to mark up. This one is new and it already has a little blemish on the side.Comment

Here's my failed attempt at trying to show the differences in the two finishes. These are both gen3 G19's. the one on the front has the newer finish. Sorry all I had was my iPhone to take the picture. The newer finish is almost a duller gray compared to the slightly shinier black finish of the older G19 is the back.
Like I said above its practically impossible to mark the old finish. The new one marks pretty easily.

Oh yea and last I read it was a tenifer finish.
My RTF2 is a light grey blue than my exs gen3 19Comment

Yeah, I noticed it on my Glock 34 Gen4 (May)...I'm not crazy about the new finish - I already have a few simple scuffs mark on it (probably from ejections). The older tennifer finish on my other Gen4s hold up really nicely. Kinda bummed with the change.Comment
