    1911 Advice needed.

Ok so I'm in the market for a 1911. Budget out the door $750 range. I really wanted a Kimber custom II but out the door I'm looking at $1000ish. Anyway what are some good options in that price range?

I was thinking an RIA. But I hate the sights on it from what I've been gathering I can't change them?

You can change them, dawson precision makes fiber optic front sight with the correct dovetail cut. You can also send your pistol to Armscor for installation of various sights. I'm going to get Night sights eventually when I have extra cash laying around.

I'm also planning on getting a $150 Surefire MR07 picatinny rail to give the beast the option to mount a light.

It isn't and most likely it never will make the roster.

They aren't. For now SSE is still and option.

You should keep an eye on gunbroker.com for deals. I think you should save up and get what you really want. In the long run, you will be glad you did.

Anyway you could bump your budget up a little more and get a Springfield Loaded?

If you settle for RIA you'll end up near 1k after all the tweaking anyway.

                        Save up or shop around.

                        Have fun 1911 are fun

Ya I need to see which FFLs in the area will SSE or even bother with getting stuff shipped to them. Unfortunately the gun shop across the street from my work won't do either.

You might contact the seller and ask if he deals with a shop near you.
