    Promag For M&P9

Has anyone used the Promag magazines for the M&P9? With factory mags so scarce I've been considering using these aftermarket mags.

A few people on the Smith & Wesson forums have tried them and have had good luck. I ordered one to try it but it's not shipped yet so it may be just as hard to obtain.

bought a few different promags and paid the price. Never again. I only trust OEM or Mecgar.

I bought 3 of them a week ago, ran them all at the range last weekend. No problems with feeding or functioning. Mag takes a firm hand to seat with the slide closed, but with it open it is really easy. No problems at all with my compact. Thinking I may order a few more with some x-grips to use with my compact on a regular basis. Although I live in AZ and bought 17 round mags, so I can't really vouch for the 10 round promags. I am thinking that maybe they are starting to put a little bit more quality into the products they make over at Promag.

I don't trust pro mags. I have a few for a different gun but all I've tried work about 90% of the time...

Where do you get any m&p mags at all? I handled an m&p today at the LGS and if I can find some mags I may have to go get the m&p.

seems like they are refusing to make m&p9 mags. all the other versions are popping up here or there. especially 45's. shield mags are generally in stock too. FS 40s are rare but not like the 9mm rare.
worst of all i believe S&W doesn't allow mecgar sell the m&p mags as 3rd party unlike the other models.

on a side note. there was a rumor somewhere that mecgar doesn't make the 45 mags which is why they are quite abundant.

I bought 4 of the ProMag M&P 9 mags a few weeks ago and used them for the first time in a competition this weekend. The floor plate blew out on 3 of them mid stage. Needless to say I was more than pissed. I called ProMag yesterday and started to tell the guy I had these mags, and before I could say what happened he said "the bottoms blew off right?" Apparently it is a known gen 1 issue and they are replacing them with gen 2 mags free. Even sending me a free one for my trouble. I will let you know after the new ones arrive and I test them.

It looks just plain beastly and the extra heft up front does help manage recoil a bit better. Plus, an angel told me that when God called JMB to heaven it was to build him a full rail 1911!

I'm surprised that ProMag is selling S&W type mags.
My order for some ProMag mags for my M&P15-22 was cancelled due to some legal issues ProMag was having with S&W.

Hmmm...I just checked their website and they have mags for quite a few S&W handguns.
Maybe it was just a rifle thing?
