    Savage Striker

I tried the search feature but can not come up with the answere. I am trying to buy a Savage Striker from a private person. Can I do this in California. Originally I thought it would fall under C&R but now I don't know.
I should mention that this is chambered in 300wsm which according to all the info I can find the Mag only holds 1 round
    Any help would be appreciated
    ThanX

It's not a C & R (yet) and if the person selling is a CA resident you both hit your FFL and do the PPT. If the gun is not in CA I don't believe you can go through your FFL, since having even a 1 round mag would remove it from single shot status - assuming it takes one in the chamber and one in the mag.

Yup....I've been working on getting one for a while. It looks like it's going to be pretty hard to do.

The basic answer is if you can close the bolt over the top of a round, then it is not a single shot. You're going to have to get a benchrest follower, block the mag so the follower cannot drop down into the mag body, then find an FFL that is willing to DROS it that way.
