Inforce APL Light Review

I've been using the APL for a while now; here's what I've found.....


Pros:
-Cost. The light can be had for around $100
-The activation paddles are very easy to activate and ambidextrous
-Uses relatively common CR123 battery
-Mounts easily
-Comes with two mounting brackets---universal and 1913
-200 C4 LED output. It's a nice white light with a good peripheral cone.
-O ring sealed
-Lightweight. Weighs 2.8oz.

Cons:

-It's not as bright as some lights on the market but brightness isn't an end all, be all on a weapon light.
-1.5hr runtime (but only uses 1 battery vs. 2 for most weapon lights.

Good review. I just disagree with the brightness. I feel it's too bright for indoors, I'm pretty sure I'd blind a 2am, groggy version of myself if a home invasion would occur at night.

I wish it would come with a low output mode. But that's something some tinted vinyl can fix.

Other than that I agree that the controls are fantastic.

200 lumens is no joke..... how is that not bright enough?

Plenty bright for inside the house, and I like that its shorter and doesn't stick out that far past the muzzle on most guns.

My only gripe were the paddles. Yes I like how you operate the light, but the paddles required too much pressure in order to turn the light on IMO, especially when you want the momentary light activated. Even when turning the light on & off, I felt like I had to push the paddles in pretty hard, where as pressing on the X300 lever or a TLR-1s lever put less strain on my finger and less effort on my finger/knuckle joints.

May not sound like much and others may not feel this, but I certainly did. Otherwise, good light for the price, size, and brightness.

I'm liking this light.

Can another suggest a way to paint or coat it with a durable finish in a tan color? Don't want it to look rattle caned.

Mine's not like that at all. I wonder if you have an out-of-spec model....?

I have the ares armor version! Its prettt nice, just feels cheap because the plastic.
