I'd like to know as well. Not looking to pay the $1500 for ones in the marketplace.
But I figure $6-700 for the rifle
Another <$250 for shipping and California compliance or am I way off base?

$1500 for a Kel-Tec??? It's nice having a carbine that folds up and that uses Glock mags, but seriously? I saw someone who was exempt buy one for $370 about 3-4 months ago.

Sold my Sub-2000 to my best friend in PA before I moved here for $100 in exchange for some help he gave me working on my car. I had 10 BNIB 33 round Glock Mags for it, which I practically gave to him as well. I had only paid $200 for it, but he got a much better deal than I thought.

In stock form, no it is not. In order to get it here in CA, you will need to have the out of state dealer install a (bullet button or a grip wrap) AND (also a butt stock extension or replacement muzzle to make the rifle at least 30inch long). With these CA compliant parts installed, any CA FFL can receive it.

It is hard to find a dealer that has these in stock AND is willing to install the CA compliant parts AND is willing to ship to CA.

Finding a CA complaint one from a dealer will prob be "at least" $500 these days. In Jan and Feb, dealers in gunbroker were selling CA compliant ones for $1800...eeek!!

Unfortunately, definitely expensive to get a CA compliant one. The other problem keltec has is with their production. They dont produce enough to satisfy the demand. Supposedly, they are expanding the manufacturing. Maybe one day production will be close to demand, but I think people who followed KelTec much longer than I have, have been hoping this for many years.

I was working for a 07 ffl and had a customer buy it and had it shipped. We had to swap the mag for a 10 rd and install a bullet button.

After checking it out and firing it, I will never buy one on my dime. Felt cheap, the sites suck.

That is what I thought too, but there is a 07 FFL that is a vendor here on calguns that told me that they still would not accept any non-CA compliant guns (and then make it CA compliant) because doing that requires a separate license in which they did not yet have at the time I talked to them. For what it's worth, that is what I was told.

As far as you not liking it, to each his own. I for one love mine. What other carbine folds in half? To have a carbine that uses the same ammo and mag as your handgun is just awesome. Sure the polymer 'feels' cheap, but after about 4k rounds so far, there has been nothing wrong with the polymer.

Ya the sites suck. Adjustment is terrible, that is why I never adjusted mine. If it sucks that much for a particular owner, they can replace the sights. From factory, I am able to hit dinner plate size targets consistently out to 50yards with the help of a bench as support. Same thing with freehand but at 25 yards.

It is unfortunate that I lost this fine weapon when my friend's boat capsized.
