The screw that holds the saftey lever on my desert eagle .357 comes loose from the recoil of the slide. Is it o.k. to secure it with thread lock? If so which one is best red or blue?

Go with blue. Make sure it's clean and free of grease or oil. Red loctite is semi permanent.sigpic

MK XIX? I shoot it in .44Mag and .50AE over 1000 rounds total and my safety is REALLY tight, I wish it would loosen up a little...You never hear the phrase eaten dead.Comment

It's a MK I. The Saftey barely drops down at all but it's enough to stop the gun from firing.Comment

It happens to every DE I've ever seen; also the firing pin spring will weaken over time and under recoil will allow the firing pin retaining plate to evade the rear of the slide.
