    HiPoint 45 pistol

Yes, you read it right! I want a hipoint 45. What?! Why on God's beautiful green earth would anyone in their right mind say this publicly?

    I want it two fold.
    1) its not the gun, it's the shooter
    2) compete with it in idpa (after proficiency is achieved) just to mess with the 1k $ ( pronounced real gun) gunners
... and why not for 200ish

    Slight problem... it's off roster...
... and I don't want the nine which would be on roster b/c a) I already own a tool of that designation b) if I'm rocking a hi point in a competition I'll need to compensate

    Thoughts?
How do I go about getting this beast?
    WTB S&W Model 10 or S&W 357 (of various models) 3 or 4" barrel.

I think point one is true only to a certain extent. I mean, you could hand a pro racing driver a Honda Civic, and he could do well with it, but he could never compete against other drivers with full race cars simply due to the performance difference.

As to how to get one, maybe buy an extra barrel and send it to your dealer of choice to get an SSE barrel and conversion done?

SSE would be unlikely (not enough interest, profit, or possibly time with pending legislation). Also, you would need to buy probably 3-4 extra barrels as they are pretty short and fixed (so some of the barrel would be left behind after cutting).

There are some 40s and 45s in the state that you could PPT if the owner is looking to sell. As for competition, it will be fun and you can show up guys that perform in the bottom of the bracket. But HPs have a slow, squishy trigger with a weird reset. I like my HP just fine, but a race gun it is not.
