Advantage Arms 22 conversion kit for XD9 update

Just a quick headsup I tried that S-K 22lr 40gr 1280 fps made by Lapua which was obtained from Graf & Sons.

Absolutely a no go in the AA XD kit, multi failures to fire, load and or eject. Reloaded mags with CCI mini mags and ran fine no issues.

The S&K ammo ran fine in my 10/22 though.

They are sold out at the moment, why did it run you? Do they also fit on the xdm frames as well?

Cost was around $315 with sales tax and shipping.

Earlier function tests showed the 40gr Mini mags (the recommended ammo) and some other brands 36gr hollow points worked fine. "Western" 36gr hp by Winchester don't work, they don't feed in my Buckmark either. So they have been religated to my 22lr revolvers.

Not suprised they are sold out. I ordered mine 3rd of June ( they went on sale June 1st), figuring there would be a rush on them once the word got out. I had been watching thier website since back in April when I noted they would be available for the XD.

Don't know if they fit the XDM, best just contact Advantage Arms.

I've been told those kits are horrid in reliability.

Wanted one for my 17 but after reviews and common issues with feeding and ejecting with all types of ammo I passed.

They have only been on the market since June 1. I'd be curious to see other reviews.

Don't know about the XD one, but the Glock one I have runs fine (with the right kind of ammo, they warn you about the ammo upfront). CCI Minimags and Remington Golden Bullets run fine until it gets really dirty (which takes a few hundred rounds. Remington GBs are very dirty). Various Federal bulk packs give about one malfunction per mag.

Dang for that price you can get a Ruger 22/45 which has the same grip angle and all and it's less than $300. Great practice pistol. It also eats anything.

Exactly. Afterdeck ing the reports I went the 22/45 rout. But then they went off sale and waiting for them to go back for sale I was offered an AK I couldn't refuse and spent my funds that way. Ill probably pick up a 22/45 in the futture still.

                    ^ No, not exactly.

The 22/45 has a 1911 grip angle, which may match the grip angle of an XD, but it sure as heck doesn't match the grip angle of your Glock 17.

BS / FUD. Advantage Arms is very clear as to what brands of ammo works with their kit and they are very clear that if you don't use the approved ammo you will have problems.
Makes you wonder if those reviews you are referring to were using approved ammo. The general consensus , I believe, is that if you use the recommended ammo and keep it clean, the kit can be
quite reliable (mine is). Then again, the 22/45, while it does not mimic the controls, trigger, grip angle, etc. of the AA Kit on your lower, can be quite reliable with a wide-range of ammo. Might even be more accurate
                    once again, mine is).

                      Ok let me rephrase that....

I lost interest in the 22 conversion and found it better for my interest to pick up another hand gun deticated in 22 for around the same exact price.

First off, let me apologize... Re-reading my post, came off rather negatively, didn't mean to be.
