Trouble zeroing scope on XVR 460. Shoots high.

Alright, I have a 460 XVR, that I had some experimental custom rings made to try out. They are a little taller, (maybe 1/2") than most rings that are being made to make room to use Iron sights under the scope. The problem I am having is that even twisted all the way down, it is still shooting a few inches above center at 50yds. I haven't had the chance to shoot it past 50, as when I went from 45 colt, to 460, it broke the original screws. So I am on my 3rd round of trials, but the first two showed it was shooting high. I got the Iron sights dead on, but can't seem to dial the scope is low enough. The scope is a VX-3 Leupold. Is this happening because the rings are too high, Am I doing something wrong with the dial, or something else I cannot think of? As far as I know, all the mounts, and rings are parallel to the barrel, unless factory ones have a slight angle that I did not account for. I have setup a couple rifles with factory mounts no problem, so I have a basic idea of what I am doing, but this one is something new to me.

    Same issue

I'm having the same issue with the XVR460. I'm using a Nikon scope with the Jack Weigand mount and rings. I originally was unable sight this gun as I was out of adjustment and it was shooting significantly high and right. S&W has since replaced the frame because it was built significantly out of square. I can now adjust windage but POI is still high even at 25 yards. Using a bore sight, it appears that the POI should be a bit low at 25 yards but it is shooting 6" high at this range with the scope out of adjustment.

How did you keep the rear sight and mount scope rings? Have any photos? I like the irons on my 460, but I also have no hope of hitting a 12" plate at 100 yards with them. It would be interesting to try a scoped 460, but I don't see myself throwing a scope on mine anytime soon. It is still interesting to see how it is done.

I can get some pictures, but right now it is kind of a prototype, that maybe after the kinks are worked out I will try to market, so I would kind of like to keep them out of circulation.
