    DROS'd my first glock(model 19)

I went to Edwards AFB and ended up buying a block 19. I was actually looking to buy a HK USP in .45. I was ready to drop the 9hundred something. Then I got to thinking , that's another caliber I have to look for and buy. The G19 cost me $540
Plus the $25 gun tax(DROS). So what do I need to know about glocks? Whatever tribal knowledge or issues I Need to know about? This one is much lighter and smaller than my P89 so I know my wife will enjoy handling and shooting this one more than my brick.

I love mine. Very easy to shoot and very quick to field strip for cleaning. Accuracy was great from the first shot, no complaints at all.

I own a 26 and a custom 17 with sts sight. The 17 is a generation 1 with literally thousands of rounds thru it. I cannot even recall the last time it ever had a FTE or FTF. I think it may have happened with some really light loads a couple of times about 10 or 15 years ago years ago. Easy to strip and clean.

I love my 17 and will never switch, enjoy your purchase.

Simple and reliable guns (for lots of us). Completely disassembling is a breeze. Mine has eaten all ammo thus far.

Great choice, my first Glock is a G19. Besides the sights, leave it stock and choot it! Also stick to OEM magazines.

Took my G19 to the range today, it's been a while. First time running some Remington Golden Sabers 124gr, Hornady Critical Defense FTX 115gr, and a few boxes of new freedom munitions 115gr. All Flawless.

I like what I'm hearing so far. As long as it's as reliable as my Ruger has been ill be a happy man

It's a Glock. Shoot the crap out of it and enjoy it.

I highly recommend new sights though. Glock factory sights are terrible IMO.

Yep not much needed. I would replace the stock plastic sights with whatever aftermarket sights you like and as stated only buy factory Glock magazines.

My first Glock was a gen 2 19.
                          Congrats on your first Glock.
Shoot the hell out of it, you will find out how reliable it is.

Congrats on the buy, and good choice. Hopefully you have some standard cap mags. That makes em funner.
You don't really have clean it as often, or baby it like others.
                            Enjoy!

All the agencies that have standardized on Glocks chose them for a reason!

Have both a G17 and G22. Both get regular use at the range, and the G22 is what's in the safe by my side of the bed.
