    What would you choose?

    Looking for opinions:

    #1. M&p full size 9 mm for $499

    #2. CZ -75b full size 9 mm for $ 599

It will be for home defense and range shooting. Will eventually pass down to one of my sons.

I think you meant CZ75B? I would go with the CZ, but the only way to know for sure is to test fire both at a range, see if anyone near you has rentals?

Having owned both, they are both great guns. I did sell my CZ to get another M&P though.

I did try both and opted for CZ 75B. I shoot it better.

A buddy of mine prefers the M&P though... Have you shot both?

Between these two, I would pick the M&P for the simplicity of the striker fire action. If you want to hand down to your son, then get a nice 1911, Browning High Power, or a pre lock S&W revolver.

That's exactly why I got rid of my CZ, I had the 75 BD meaning it had the decocker, they are great guns but I love the simplicity of my M&P 9c,
So I shot the full size M&P 9 and liked it. Either way they are both great guns and neither will let you down.

If for home defense u might consider putting a light on it so m&p fits with a rail.

personally i like the all steel weight of the cz. Reduces recoil for your sons.

The price of the M&P makes it a tough call...

My vote in this case would go for the M&P.

                      id go with the cz

i dont know about holding value, i dont think either are going to increase in value just sitting in a safe and with either you can refinish and replace worn parts to maintain or even increase value.

i do think that the all steel cz, if properly maintained will be something your kids could be passing on to their kids and on and on for generations.

                          for myself, M&P, no question...

Personally, I like the way the CZ-75 points in.
                            I vote CZ

It's all going to boil down to preference, I say shoot both and go from there.
