    Sistema Colt 22lr

Maybe the pro's here can help me with this.

I just picked this up at a local shop.

It's an Argentine M1927 (1911) licensed manufacturer by Colt. The gun was originally manufactured in 45acp and later converted to 22lr. The conversion took place around the 1970's by an armory in Argentina.

Anyway, let me know if you have any information about this.

Wow, a .22 Sistema that is so cool.

Dunno anything else though, those aren't colt ace mags.

    Hows it shoot?

Richard, I haven't shot it yet....

Just picked it up today... Disassembled it, cleaned years of oil and grease off of it. The sear, disconnect and all internals were in excellent condition.

The mags, yes, they are not even remotely close to an Ace, the workmanship is outstanding for a military handgun. Full floating chamber, typical military with serial numbers on every part.

I've posted in several others forums including one where a gentlemen from Argentina actually dealt with the armory that converted the 45's to 22's. I'm trying to get as much information as I can about these are they really cool.

The best part is 3 mags... From what I understand each conversion was hand made thus 22 parts, even if you could find them will not interchange. The balance of the frame, trigger, etc will interchange with Colt parts (with a little fitting of course).

I'm going to take it out in the morning and see how she works...

+1 - very cool! Extra mags are definitely a good thing.

How much did this cost, if you don't mind telling?
