    1911 minor smithing help

    Hello all,
I need to fit a slide stop that came with Surefire MR07 weapon light Mount. Do we have any reputable 1911 smith in So Cal? I am near LA/OC border.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

www.davesmetalworks.com His prices are resonable and he does great work.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

Slide stops don't take much fitting if the pin is not oversized. The only areas that may need attention are the detent pocket if it won't stay down and the angle of the area that actuall holds the slide back. If it came with a light I'll bet it will fit fine with out any work. Try it.
      where are my pistol mags?

Thanks for the replies. I assembled with it but it is very tight and slide stop gets stuck... Where's Dave's metalworks located?
        Thanks,

checkout Brownells, they have a video gunsmith how to portion..., look at it and try it yourself.. you'll feel better that you did it yourself. TMC is right, there isn't much to smith...
